GIVE MEDIC GAYFLOR FOUR-MATCH BAN
Monrovia, Liberia – For misbehaving, the Liberia Football Association (LFA) fined Invincible Eleven (IE) L$50,000 and suspended medical staff member Jeremiah Gayflor for four games.
On November 26, at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium, during an Orange first division game between IE and Bea Mountain, Gayflor went onto the field and purposefully hurled sachets of water at referee Thomas McGill.
He also made life-threatening statements to the team of match officials.
According to LFA Law, “Any individual who incites players against other players or match officials due to their decisions, or who supports an unhealthy demonstration in any way, and commits an offence, will be subject to an LFA fine of LRD$50,000 and will not be permitted to attend the club’s next four rounds of matches.” The seriousness of the offence could lead to additional punishment from the grievance and disciplinary bodies.
Before their subsequent game in the second phase, IE must pay the fine; otherwise, they risk more disciplinary action.
