 The Amputee National Soccer team of Liberia on Wednesday received a great boost ahead of Turkey’s 2022 Amputees World Cup following the arrival of two professionals.

 Matthew Joe and Morilai Boakai, played in the just ended Amputees top flat league in Turkey for their respective clubs.

Matthew and MorilaI who were part of the Liberian team that finished 2nd and 3rd places in the 2021 and 2019 Amputees African Nations Cup in Tanzania and Angola had their first practice session on Wednesday.

Matthew Joe was the top goal scorer in Tanzania 2021 Amputees Nations Cup as Liberia finished as runners up to Ghana while Morilai Boakai also played pivotal role in the country’s overwhelming performance.

Boakai scored four goals in Angola 2019 as Liberia finished 3rd place. Both of them consistent overwhelming performances for the national team earned them professional contracts in that part of Euro.

Meanwhile, following the climax of the 2022 Amputees National league, the head coach of the Amputees National Football team of Liberia, Victor Benson and technical staff selected a provisional squad of 24 players to begin preparation ahead of the world Cup.

According to statistics, Liberia is the most successful amputee football country in Africa with three nations cup titles, 2nd place finished, 3rd place finished and a runners up in the world cup.
