Monrovia, Liberia – The Minister of Health, Dr. Louise Mapleh M. Kpoto, met with Dr. Dougbeh Chris Nyan, the Director-General of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), at the Ministry of Health to talk about measures to improve the country’s healthcare system.
The purpose of the conference, which was called by NPHIL, was to strengthen cooperation between the two health institutions in order to expand on current projects and enhance the nation’s response to health issues. An update on NPHIL’s activities and success was given by Dr. Nyan, who focused on the organization’s efforts to control and limit health epidemics, such as the recent Mpox cases.
Minister Kpoto gave an overview of the progress made in tackling the issues facing the nation’s healthcare sector. With the goal to improve medical treatment for the Liberian people and ensure greater readiness and reaction to new health risks, the two health executives talked about ways to strengthen the country’s healthcare system.
Dr. Nyan acknowledged the critical role the partnership between government agencies plays in tackling public health concerns and said, “We are fully committed to working together to improve the healthcare system in Liberia.”
In a similar manner, Minister Kpoto expressed gratitude to Dr. Nyan and NPHIL for initiating the conference and emphasized the significance of bolstering the country’s healthcare system to guarantee the health of all residents.
The conference was another phase in the continuing efforts by the Ministry of Health and NPHIL to strengthen Liberia’s healthcare system and better address public health concerns, which would improve the sector’s results. Following its conclusion, both parties pledged to improve communication, pool resources, and work together on important health initiatives that will benefit the country and its citizens.
