Peter Wilson and Marcus Macaulay gave Lone Star victory

The Lone Star of Liberia on Tuesday whipped the Wild Beasts of the Central African Republic 3:1 in their final match in Group C in Morocco to collect 6 points from six matches of the ongoing Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

 Peter Wilson brace in the 8th and 72th minutes plus Marcus Macaulay two minutes goal were enough as the red, white and blue outfit collected all three points.

The 25-year old controlled the excellent Mark Pabai’s inch perfect cross on the right foot before calmly slotting home with his left in pursuit of a defender who had had him under charge from the halfway line while Macus Macaulay perfectly made used of Murphy Oscar Dorley back heed passed to make it 2-0 at half time.

The Wild Beast of the Central African Republic could have reduce the score by 2-1 in the first half but they failed to make use of the spot kick to end the first half 2-0 in favor of the Lone Star.

Early in the 2nd half, the Wild Beast reduced the scored by 2-1,but Peter Wilson who plays for Olympiacos Nicosia in Cyrus completed his brace to officially hand Liberia a second win of the group.

According to statistics, Peter Wilson has scored two goals in eleven appearances for the red, white and blue outfit.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles of Nigeria finished top of the group with 13points from the same number of matches while the group nearest challengers, Cape Verde Island finished 2nd with 11 points.

Liberia and Central African Republic finished 3rd and 4th places with 6points each.

Liberia lost back to back to both Nigeria and Cape Verde Island with: 2:0;2:0 and 2:1;1:0, but defeated the Central African Republic home and away with 0:1 and 3:1 victories.

Liberia could not play a single match at home through the qualifiers due to the banned placed on the country premier Sports Stadium (SKD Complex).

Liberia earlier paid 15, 000 United States dollars to Ghana City Council government to use their Stadium as home venue for Cape Verde Island match which they lost 2:1.

Later now, the Kingdom of Morocco pit their conditions and handover one of its stadiums (Bouta Stade) in Tangier to them for match day 5&6 against Nigeria and Central African Republic.
