Pres. Weah Holds Town Hall meeting in District #6 Montserrado County.

As part of his nationwide County Tour throughout the fifteen counties of Liberia, President George Manneh Weah holds Town Hall meeting with the people and citizens of Montserrado County District #6.

The Town Hall meeting was held in the Gymnasium of the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville.

Representing the young people of the district, John K. Dolo pleaded with the Liberian Leader to help them deal with the issue of drug abuse by young people and the vulnerable youth in the society.

The women, however, cry for total protection of girls and women as the issue of rape is at high risk in that district. The women called on Mr. Weah to help them with macro loans, install more lights, and complete the various road projects in the district.

Representing the market women, Madam Princess Cooper pleaded with Mr. Weah to provide a toilet facility at the VOA Market on the Robertsfield highway. They presented food items the Liberian Leader as a gift from the market.

Representative Rev. Dr. Samuel R. Enders of District #6 thanked Mr. Weah for the numerous development in the district. He noted that he and his community leaders had earlier planned to thank the Liberian Leader for the good initiatives in the district. The Representative added that the only one who will see the good and denied it is not worthy to be a leader.

He requested that Mr. Weah create a loan scheme that will be named after the first lady and promise to contribute USD$1,500 as a representative. He pleaded with the president to upgrade the security system in the district, especially the police force.

“WHEN YOU SEE GOOD THINGS, YOU KNOW GOOD THINGS”.

President Weah in response said he has come to develop Liberia and that is what he is going to do. He noted that his developmental job started far back as a Senator of Montserrado County. Mr. Weah praised district #6 law marker for thinking in his direction of development for the district, and thank the law marker for working along with him in the interest of the Liberian people.

According to Mr. Weah, it is good to appreciate people who help you along the way, he noted that it is a sign of good leadership.

“WE NEED TO MOVE THIS COUNTRY TOGETHER AS LIBERIANS, LET US WORK TOGETHER FOR THE BETTER OF LIBERIA. MY PEOPLE I WILL NEVER MAKE YOU SHAME”.

Mr. Weah in response to the issue of security and rape, said it is the duty of the government to protect its people, but reminded the people that they are part of the governance process. He pleaded with the citizens to help raise alarm on rapists and unlawful individuals who want to destroy the peace and security of the country. He pleaded with parents not to take care of their children by teaching and training them the right things to do.

“EVERYTHING THAT STARTS FROM HOME ENDS ON THE STREET AND THEN YOU PUT THEM ON GOVERNMENT”.

The Liberian Leader noted that government money is used to take care of the people. He spoke in that lite of the issue of providing street cameras for the country which was denied by many Liberians. The president continues to speak about dialogue for the peace and prosperity of the country instead of protest and war.

President Weah announced that he is going for his two terms only and will want to live in Liberia with a good atmosphere and peace which is why he continue to preach the good news of peace. He announced two new hospitals and four clinics soon, a conversation he had with his partners be narrated.
