President Boakai Applauds Vatican on Independence Anniversary

Monrovia, Liberia, Release – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has sent a congratulatory message to His Holiness Pope Francis as the Vatican City State, the Apostolic Episcopal See of the Bishop of Rome, celebrates its Independent Day on February 11, 2024.

In his message to His Holiness Pope Francis, President Boakai extended sincere congratulations on behalf of the government and people of the Republic of Liberia and in his own name.

In a statement from the Foreign Ministry, the Liberian leader emphasized that they are commemorating the 95th anniversary of the Vatican City State as ExCathedra and the Universal Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Church.

President Boakai expressed his satisfaction that Liberia and the Vatican have benefited greatly from their cooperation in areas such as social services, health, and education.

He added that as the two countries celebrate this historic day, he prays and hopes that they will cooperate to advance global security and peace for all people.
