Monrovia, Liberia – Citing a “clear risk” they could be used in a major breach of international humanitarian law, the United Kingdom says it would suspend thirty out of 350 arms exports licenses to Israel.
According to Aljazeera on Monday, September 2, 2024, Foreign Secretary David Lammy informed parliament on the partial ban covered items “which could be used in the current conflict in Gaza” against Hamas but omitted components for the F-35 fighter fighters.
Lammy also noted that the UK still upholds Israel’s right to self-defense in line with international law.
