Suspended President of the Federation of Liberian Youth Amos Williams has rejected his suspension and accused the Monrovia City mayor of being the mastermind of his suspension.
Amos Williams on Monday was suspended by the Executive Committee of FLY citing procedural error in the setting up of the ad hoc election commission.
The Executive Committee of FLY said the institution’s constitution was violated by the president.
But phoning in on Monday’s edition of the OK Conversation a local radio station in Liberia, Mr. Williams said the decision of the Executive Committee to have him suspended is the making of the CDC Youth League Chairman Jefferson Koijee.
According to him, the appointment of the independent national commission was done in consultation with some members of the Executive Committee contrary to his claim that he took the decision unilaterally.
FLY’s Secretary James Koryor said their decision was due to the organization’s president alleged unconstitutional action and single handily appointing an independent national commission.
He said the constitution of the organization clearly states that the president in consultation with the Executive Committee but was never done in the case of Mr. Williams.
