Monrovia, Liberia – Henry Costa, a well-known political analyst and podcast presenter, has called for national unity and urged Vice President Jeremiah Koung to put Liberia’s interests ahead of his personal political disagreements.
Speaking on his popular podcast on Monday, Costa urged collaboration and reconciliation, saying that it is imperative to put the country’s advancement ahead of individual complaints at this time.
Costa spoke directly to Vice President Koung, saying, “I think it’s time to bury the hatchet.” “We need to concentrate on cooperating to create a better Liberia because there is so much at stake.”
Costa also said that he would no longer be actively involved in politics and would instead concentrate on the business sector, especially the mining sector. He declared his intention to use private enterprise to support Liberia’s economy.
Costa said, “It’s time to earn more money in the private sector.” “I’ve made the decision that I don’t want a job in government. I want to use private enterprise to support the economy.
When considering his previous political position, Costa said that he did not vote for President Joseph Boakai in the elections but praised the government for getting started on resolving national concerns quickly.
He pointed to the accelerated processing of his mining paperwork in less than two weeks, which stands in sharp contrast to the six-month delays under previous administrations. “I may not have supported President Boakai, but I must admit the speed and effectiveness with which government services are being delivered is impressive,” he said.
Costa promised his audience that although though he was no longer actively involved in politics, he would still provide guidance on matters of national importance when needed. He was upbeat about the direction the nation will go under the new leadership. “I think this government can succeed, and I’m still optimistic about Liberia’s progress,” Costa stated.
