Monrovia, Liberia – Liberia Football Association (LFA) headed by Mustapha Raji has been dragged to Court by CESAF for 2.6 million United States dollars. CESAF is an international general construction company. On November 23, 2023, the institution filed a debt action against the LFA before Judge Eva Mappy for neglecting to pay more than 2.6 million US dollars for services rendered at the LFA Headquarters.
The LFA’s communications department further verified that, although the LFA President signed on behalf of the organisation, CESAF Liberia had submitted a writ for action of debt on November 23.
After learning of the information, stakeholders and Liberian football supporters began to doubt the LFA’s credibility. Mustapha Raji estimated that as of the day of dedication, the LFA headquarters project cost about 1.5 million USD. Raji further stated that the project’s true cost will become known after a retention period of ninety days.
The project has been dedicated for more than a year, but the public and stakeholders have not been informed of the true cost of the project.
Football supporters have been demonstrating in favour of the LFA president’s resignation for a number of reasons. Some of the reasons are the delayed in the disclosure of the LFA headquarters cost, the poor performance of the national team, the Lone Star, the orange deal with the LFA and others.
