Five persons have been arrested in connection to the January 19, New Kru Town stampede; they have been charged and forwarded to Court for prosecution.
The five persons include: Peter Weah, Prince Toby, Nagbe Robert, Edmond Mayson, William Karley, and others to be identified.
The individuals are being charged with the crimes of Criminal Conspiracy, Armed Robbery, and Murder in violations of chapter 10 sections 10.4, Chapter 15 section 15.32, Chapter 14 section 14.1, of the criminal procedural law of Liberia while other defendants to be identified are also charged in absentia pending court trial.

D-Tweh sports pitch and forcibly began taking the worshipers’ phones and personal belongings, thus putting them under intense fear and duress.
The investigation also revealed that during the stampede, police officers along with the Liberia National Fire Service including some concerned citizens began rescuing the victims by rushing them to the Redemption Hospital where some were later pronounced ‘dead upon arrival and others died while undergoing medical treatment.
The sad event mandated the Liberian Government to declare war on gangsters (zogos), and called for a day of national mourning for lives lost. According to a police report on February 7, 2022, the search is still ongoing for the perpetrators of such an evil act.
