Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has charged Teddy David, a Liberian national, with Negligent Homicide in connection with the death of Grace Tenwah, whose unconscious and severely injured body was reportedly found near her residence in the Shoe Factory Community. David was transporting Tenwah on a bicycle when the incident happened on July 27, 2026, along Pipeline Road in Montserrado County, according to a police charge sheet signed by Sgt. George K. Quoi and was arrested August 3, 2026.
The investigation states that David told Tenwah he was running low on fuel and would use Pipeline Road to look for gasoline. While traveling, Tenwah allegedly jumped from the tricycle, fell, and suffered a serious head injury, leaving her unconscious and bleeding heavily. David reportedly contacted Tablah and was advised to take Tenwah to a hospital. Police say he subsequently took her to three medical facilities Maibo Medical Center, Robert Moore Memorial Healthcare Center, and Peace Home Medical Center but she was reportedly not admitted and was referred to larger facilities, including ELWA Hospital and JFK Medical Center.
Instead of taking her to the referred hospitals, police allege that David returned Tenwah to her community and abandoned her near her residence while she remained unconscious. Investigators further allege that he failed to confirm whether she was alive or dead. The LNP said its investigation relied on witness accounts and physical evidence and concluded that David should be charged with Negligent Homicide under Chapter 14, Section 14.3 of Liberia’s New Penal Law. David has not been convicted of the offense and remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction. The police document also contains an apparent discrepancy regarding David’s age and date of birth, which may require clarification during the judicial process. The case is expected to proceed before the appropriate court for further determination.
