OneSightEssilorLuxottica Foundation Fund donate 7,000 Reading Glasses to MoH

Monrovia, Liberia – In an effort to increase access to vision care nationwide, the OneSightEssilorLuxottica Foundation Fund has shipped 7,000 pairs of reading glasses to the Ministry of Health (MOH) just a few days before World Sight Day.

By addressing unmet vision needs, the donation will help thousands of Liberians live better lives, according to C. Allison Paygar Sr., Country Director of the One Sight Essilor Luxottica Foundation.

Dr. Caullau J. Howe, Assistant Minister for Preventive Services, accepted the shipment on behalf of the government and commended the foundation for its long-standing collaboration and dedication in improving eye condition in Liberia.

The donation coincides with the ministry’s increased efforts to promote preventative eye care and increase awareness of preventable visual impairment in the lead-up to World Sight Day, she said.

The donation will be disbursed through a number of community health initiatives aimed at people who have little access to eye care services.
