Ukraine recall troops serving UN mission

REPUBLICWORLD.COM has reported that Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said Ukraine will recall its troops serving in United Nations peacekeeping missions in Africa and Europe to help defend the country against the Russian invasion.

Ukraine deploys some 300 troops, police officers, and other staff in six UN missions. Its biggest contribution is to the MONUSCO mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which includes eight helicopters and a 250-member aviation unit. Will President Zelenskyy’s decision jeopardizes security in Africa, particularly in a country like DR Congo, a question asked.
