Monrovia, Liberia – Jetty Conglomerates identifies with Monrovia Central Prison on Independence Day. Speaking on Jeety’s behalf, the company’s manager clarified that the Independence Day feeding program is more than just an annual charitable effort, emphasizing that it is a commitment to ensuring that every Liberian, regardless of circumstances, is treated with compassion and dignity.
“True independence is reflected not only in our nation’s history but also in how we care for one another,” the manager remarked. He emphasized that the outreach successfully conveys to convicts that they are still significant contributors to society and have not been overlooked.
“Our presence here today is Jeety’s way of saying you matter, you are valued, and you are part of this nation’s journey,” he said, praising the Monrovia Central Prison administration for their commitment to upholding law and order and providing for inmates in spite of difficult circumstances.
He extended gratitude to partners and volunteers who assisted with the event’s planning and expressed hope that the meal would provide not only nourishment but also renewed hope for a brighter future.
Liberia’s Independence Day celebration brought attention to the growing calls for correctional reforms that put an emphasis on rehabilitation, reintegration, and public-private partnerships with the goal of giving prisoners a second opportunity while promoting national growth.
Jetty’s humanitarian food assistance and distribution appears to have been ongoing from 2020 or before, with a well-documented weekly community feeding program beginning in February 2024.
