Monrovia, Liberia – The Nigerian Embassy near Monrovia has reaffirmed its commitment to the development of Nigerian-Liberia relations with an emphasis on people-to-people interactions for the mutual benefit of the two countries, the land of profound diversity and opportunities, as Nigeria observes its 64th independence anniversary today, October 1, 2024.
According to Manir Ibrahim, the charge d’affaires, Nigerians have gained recognition on a regional and international level for their inventiveness, resourcefulness, and innovation.
Mr. Ibrahim statements were contained in his 64th Independence Day delivered at the Nigerian Embassy near Congo outside Monrovia during the weekend.
“We must continue working not to only sustain the Nigerian doggedness, but also take the Nigeria-Liberia relations to the greater heights. Together, we can change our condition for the better and pursuing our activities within the confines of the laws of our host country.”
Ibrahim reassured all Nigerians that under his direction, the Nigerian Embassy close to Monrovia will keep assisting their legitimate businesses and collaborating with the Liberian government to guarantee that the conditions necessary for their growth are met so that they can keep making valuable contributions to the nation’s development.
“Going ahead,” he continued, “it is crucial to capitalize on the loans provided by Nigerian financial institutions in Liberia to bolster their enterprises and offer long-term employment opportunities to as many Nigerians and Liberians as possible, thus enhancing the standard of living for the majority of the population.”
In order to improve Nigeria’s reputation among other countries, he asked all Nigerians to preserve “our age-long high ethical and moral values.”
The Charge d’ Affairs of the Nigerian Embassy commended President Joseph Boakai for his development steps and pledges to strengthen the Liberian economy and offer life-saving initiatives to Liberians by enforcing the ARREST Agenda strictly.
“In the light of our sustained cordial bilateral relations, I wish President Boakai God protection, good health and grace to continue with the good work he has started to the final stage.”
Nigeria’s Charge d’Affaires expressed gratitude to the Liberian government and people for hosting both Nigerians and other foreign visitors, and expressed the hope that their combined efforts would result in longer-lasting democracy, economic development, peace, security, and good neighborliness in Liberia.
