As He Launch Gov’t Performance System

Monrovia, Liberia – Through a systematic approach to performance monitoring and compliance, President Joseph N. Boakai has launched the government’s Performance Management and Compliance System (PMCS), which aims to enhance the government framework. In remarks during the PMCS launch on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, President Boakai cautioned government officials that corruption will not be tolerated.

“The PMCS is intended to prevent, detect, and address inefficiency and wrongdoing at every level,” the Liberian leader stated.

According to Amb. Boakai, it is a mechanism to make sure those who are in charge of the country’s resources are acting in the public interest rather than their own interest.

According to the Liberian leader, the Performance Management and Compliance technology’s inauguration marks not just the introduction of a new technology but also the expansion of a significant commitment: our commitment to provide every Liberian citizen with an efficient and responsible government.

According to President Boakai, the PMCS will be a key component of his government’s agenda, allowing it to set precise performance goals, track its progress, and improve the services it offers.

“This is a public commitment, a pledge that we will govern with accountability, measure our success with transparency, and work continuously toward improvement that it is not only an internal tool.”

Every Liberian will gain from this system, according President Boakai, who also stated that “we are fostering a public sector that values results and prioritizes service” by holding all officials responsible to high standards set for Ministries, Agencies, and Commissions.”

He added that his administration has taken decisive measures to end the cycle of corruption, inefficiency, and broken promises that have hampered the nation’s growth for far too long.

Every public institution, leader, and organization will have to exhibit stewardship under the PMCS, not just for the work they do, but for the outcomes they deliver.”

According to Mr. Boakai, the approach also makes sure that no one is exempt from inspection and that no performance is left unchecked.

The PMCS’s introduction, according to the president, marked a turning point in Liberia’s progress toward accountability, openness, and effective governance.

He noted that the launch is just the beginning, noting that the real effect of the PMCS will be achieved via its continued implementation and the combined dedication of all government offices, public servants, and anybody who believes in the possibility of a better Liberia.

President Boakai called on citizens, public servants, partners, and government officials to support the program, adopt the values of performance and accountability, and push the government to high standards.
