Monrovia, Liberia – In an effort to inform the public about its initiatives, policies, reforms, and accomplishments within Liberia’s civil service, the Civil Service Agency (CSA) formally established a monthly newsletter. Through the CSA’s official website, the newsletter, which was released on Wednesday, will function as an official communication tool to offer frequent updates on the agency’s programs, ongoing civil service reforms, and other important projects.
Director General Josiah Joekai of the Civil Service Agency stated during the launch that the magazine demonstrates the agency’s dedication to openness, public participation, and accurate information sharing about its operations.
Joekai stated, “We don’t let people tell our stories.” The content originates with us, but media organizations assist in projecting, relaying, and translating our work. They are free to convey it however they see fit, but we take great care to make sure that what we do in the civil service is communicated. He claimed that while dispelling myths and false information about the agency’s operations, the newsletter will assist in keeping the public informed.
According to Joekai, “Our objective is to educate the public and dispel myths, false information, and rumors that continue to harm the type of job we conduct. Among government organizations, our website is also among the most efficient. Even a monitoring agent is included on the webpage.”
According to Joekai, the monthly publication would highlight the agency’s achievements, policy proposals, and continuous endeavors to enhance the efficacy and efficiency of Liberia’s civil service. Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism Minister Jerolinmek Piah commended the Civil Service Agency for launching the newsletter, calling it a major step toward improving institutional accountability and government communication.
The Information Minister stated that in order to combat false and misleading information, government organizations must take responsibility for informing the public about their work. Minister Piah claims that frequent publications like the CSA bulletin will boost openness and public confidence in government institutions while giving citizens current information on government actions, reforms, and institutional advancements.
