Monrovia-The Alternative National Congress Political Leader Alexander Cummings bodyguard has been charged and forwarded to court by the Liberia National Police (LNP) for his alleged possession of firearms during the much publicized December 17, 2022 “we Taya Suffering Rally”.

Defendant Justin Zigbuo was arrested on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the “we taya suffering rally”, organized by ANC with a black pistol marked Jericho 941 PSL, IWI NSA 020, and thoroughly investigated and subsequently charged with the criminal offense of illegal possession and sale of physical objects for lethal use which is in violation of Chapter 17 section 17.11 of the revised penal code of Liberia.

According to LNP investigators, they received intelligence that the bodyguard of Mr. Cummings, defendant Justin Zigbuo, was in possession of a firearm at the rally on the S.K.D. Sports Complex in Paynesville at which time the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) of the Liberia National Police immediately went to the S.K.D Sports Complex and arrested defendant Zigbuo with a black pistol marked Jericho 941 PSL, IWI (NSA 020) and brought him for further investigation.

Defendant Zigbuo during the Police investigation told Police investigators that he reserved comment in the presence of his legal counsel.  

Meanwhile, defendant Justin Zigbuo has been released on human surety bond which was filed by his legal counsel in keeping with the law.
