Monrovia, Liberia – A number of Kouh team candidates have withdrawn from the Liberia Football Association 2026 election for the Executive Committee seat. Emmett Stages Glassco has withdrawn from the Liberia Football Association’s (LFA) Executive Committee competition.
Cassell Kuoh’s campaign chairman, Glassco, stated he was unable to proceed following Kuoh’s removal from the ballot due to issues with openness and justice. He called on the general public to support justice and democratic values in football and emphasized his dedication to sport’s reform.
Wilmot F. Smith, a contender in the Liberia Football Association (LFA) elections scheduled for May 15, has formally pulled out of the race, citing what he called a “fundamentally compromised and fraudulent process.”
The former LFA Vice President for Operations accused the chairman of the Elections Commission of lacking independence and impartiality in a written statement addressed to LFA Secretary General Emmett Crayton. He claimed that the chairman had selectively disqualified certain people and shielded others.
It is reported that a large number of additional candidates are anticipated to drop out for the same reason. Most of these candidates believe their ideology does not match the incumbent president.
