Pres. Weah Speaks on nuclear escalation and extreme climate conditions at UNGA

New York, USA – President George Weah has expressed concern over the proliferation of non-state armed organisations, the potential for nuclear conflict, and severe weather as the world grapples with previously unheard-of global political and security issues. Noting that despite this, efforts to build a safe and peaceful society are impeded by these issues.

He noted that Liberia is committed to the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in accordance with the CDC Flagship National Development Plan – the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development, which represents the resolve to achieve peace and prosperity while addressing the structural impediments to economic growth and national development.
