As Supreme President Urges Members To Deepen Faith, Unity

Monrovia, Liberia – Members of the Knights of St. John International across Liberia will today celebrate their 74th Feast Day of their patron saint, St. John the Baptist, with a renewed commitment to faith, charity, and service to humanity.
The celebration, is been held under the theme, “With Hope in Our Hearts and Courage in Our Mission, We Continue to Serve.”
In his Feast Day reflection, the Supreme Subordinate President of the Knights of St. John International in Liberia, Major General Andrew N. Nimley Jr., called on members of the Catholic fraternal organization to renew their commitment to faith, charity, unity, and service as they celebrate the Feast Day of their patron saint, St. John the Baptist.
Major General Nimley said the occasion goes beyond honoring St. John the Baptist and serves as a reminder of the Order’s identity and sacred mission to serve God, the Church, and humanity.
Also, he emphasized that despite the challenges and uncertainties experienced over the past year, members have remained steadfast through faith and dedication to the principles of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity.
“Our guiding theme, ‘With Hope in Our Hearts and Courage in Our Mission, We Continue to Serve,’ reminds us that hope is our beacon during trials and reassures us of God’s constant presence in our lives,” Nimley stated, citing Romans 5:5 to encourage members to remain resilient.
Drawing inspiration from the life of St. John the Baptist, the Supreme Subordinate President urged members to emulate the saint’s courage and unwavering commitment to truth.
“He fearlessly proclaimed the truth, stayed true to his mission, and devoted his life to preparing the way for the Lord. His example inspires us to remain steadfast in our commitment to Christ, His Church, and our mission as Knights and Ladies of St. John, even when the road ahead is challenging,” he narrated.
Moreover, the Knights leader praised members for their sacrifices and dedication, describing their service as essential to strengthening commanderies and auxiliaries throughout the country. He also lauded Cadets and Juniors, calling them not only the future of the Order but an important part of its present success.
As part of the Feast Day celebration, Nimley urged all members to attend a Thanksgiving Mass scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Monrovia.
He encouraged participants to attend in large numbers and bring special offertory gifts as a sign of gratitude for God’s blessings.
“Our presence in God’s house will serve as a powerful testament to our unity, faith, and dedication to our Order,” he said.
The head of the Knights further challenged members to strengthen their bonds of fraternity, expand charitable works, and become instruments of peace and Christian witness in their communities.
Concluding his message, Major General Nimley called on members to seek the intercession of St. John the Baptist and remain united in their mission of service.
“With hope guiding us and courage leading our efforts, we shall continue to serve with dedication, while invoking God’s blessings upon the Knights of St. John International, the Catholic Church, and Liberia,” Nimley added.
The Feast of St. John the Baptist is one of the most significant celebrations for the Knights of St. John International, a Catholic organization dedicated to promoting Christian values, charity, and service to humanity.
